Research experience related to the molecular genetics, classical genetics and cell biology of human and Drosophila. Theoretical knowledge and practical experience include laboratory-based research. Technical skills: molecular-cytogenetic techniques including fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded archival and fresh frozen breast, ovarian and endometrial tissue sections, touch preparations and metaphase chromosome preparations; cytology and genetics of Drosophila and other insects; dissection /transplantation of Drosophila gonads and other organs; immunofluorescence and immunostaining, light and fluorescence microscopy, image preparation and analysis; karyology of vertebrates (Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves); basic molecular biology techniques, cell culture, plant genetics and plant tissue culture. Ability to analyze, manipulate and interpret experimental data. Perform writing research projects and peer-reviewed articles, review manuscripts. Experience in collaborations with other laboratories and investigators, and in supervising fellows, research associates, medical, undergraduate and graduate students and laboratory research personnel.
